Quantum first with Dumatherm
In an all Africa first for rapid nitrogen determination, Quantum Analytical has taken the highly efficient Gerhardt Dumatherm into production
Rapid nitrogen and protein analysis
The Dumatherm applies principles developed by renowned chemist Jean Baptiste Dumas in 1848 already. In the Dumatherm application, samples are combusted at high temperatures and resulting nitrogen oxides reduced to elemental nitrogen before being analysed using a single filament detector
The instrument was developed by Gerhardt Laboratory Systems in Germany and supplied and supported locally by Merck SA
After extensive validation and testing on-site, Quantum has now commissioned the Dumatherm, the first in Africa
